21 year old man with progressive weakness and numbness of the legs followed by loss of bowel and bladder control. MRI of the spine (sagittal image on left, axial image on top right) reveals a metameric (juvenile) arteriovenous malformation of the spinal cord as well as the surrounding bone and muscle at the same levels at the same levels of involvement. Selective pinal arteriography (lower right) demonstrates the vascular anatomy of the malformation allow for comprehensiive treatment planning. |
